Makes 12

Raw chocolate is loaded with antioxidants. Combine that with the protein and omega oils in hemp flakes and you’ve got a winner. I just love how the flakes keep their crunch in the chocolate.

This recipe was prepared and photographed in a country other than New Zealand. The law allowing humans to eat hemp flakes is still not finalized. We are providing this for information purposes only.

Ingredients:

½ raw cacao powder (cup)

½ cup cacao butter

½ cup hemp flakes

2 Tbsp maple syrup, honey or rice syrup

2 Tbsp nut butter of choice

Method:

Melt the cacao in a bowl that is placed in a larger bowl filled with boiled water.
Once melted, whisk in the cacao powder.
Add the sweetener and then the nut butter.
Once everything is creamy, add in the hemp flakes and press into silicone chocolate moulds or a cling wrap lined ice cube tray.
Place in the freezer to harden. Once hard, remove from the moulds and store in the fridge. Garnish with flakes.
